Projects

  • A leading instrument manufacturer was experiencing field quality problems. We determined systems, not people, were the problem. the people were given the training, coaching and the tools to do their jobs. Quality improved to 99%; on-time deliver to 95%; lead-times were reduced 50%, inventory 20%, space 40% and staffing remained flat.
  • An existing product line was stagnating. Analysis indicated the products were not targeted. Application specific segments were established, growing the systems business by 45% over 4 years.
  • Merged two divisions with profitability as the prime goal. Eliminated redundancies in manufacturing, restructured marketing and engineering by product line. Improved sales growth by increasing the line card for the sales channel. In one year, the bottom line improved form a loss to a quarterly profit of $1.9mm.
  • A customer pressed our client to reduce lead times. MRP information was lacking and also required time and effort for updates. We designed and installed a bar code system, providing real information for decision making allowing a reduction of lead time from two weeks to two days.
